TV audiences will recognise Jim from his appearances in the BAFTA winning The Sketch Show on ITV1 but his original deadpan delivery and perfectly crafted routines have also made him an internationally renowned stand-up comedian.
From entertaining troops in the Falkland Islands, to the rare accolade of performing at three Royal Variety Performances and a private show at Highgrove, Jim's off-the-wall comedy has been equally well received in the USA. In 2008 Jim reached the finale of hit US talent show Last Comic Standing (NBC) and embarked on a 63 date tour of the United States with the other finalists.
Jim was also the winner of International Star Search (Syndicated) in 1992 and went on to appear in Caroline's Comedy Hour (A&E) and the sitcom Wings (NBC). Jim has performed live at Evening at the Improv in Los Angeles, Showtime Montreal Gala, the Montreal Just for Laughs and Aspen International Comedy Festivals.
Jim has written and performed his own series Jim Tavaré Pictures Presents… (BBC Two) and The Golden Rose of Montreaux nominated The Jim Tavaré Show (Five). He also appears as Tom the Innkeeper in the movie Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.
