About
One of the UK’s most successful live stand-up comedians, Russell Howard has just finished his sell-out Spring 2011 arena tour, Right Here, Right Now. The tour saw him perform at some of the country’s biggest venues, including London’s O2 Arena.
Russell is the writer and star of BBC Three’s most successful entertainment show Russell Howard’s Good News, which in the last two last series pulled an average audience of 3 million per week and was the most requested show on BBC iPlayer whilst on-air.
The fourth series of Russell Howard’s Good News has just finished airing on BBC Three, while a DVD featuring the best bits of the first series has been released by 4DVD. Russell has had two bestselling live stand-up DVDs with Russell Howard Live (2008) and Russell Howard Live - Dingledodies (2009), which have sold over 400,000 copies and dominated the top five of the DVD comedy chart during both years of release.
Russell has recently just finished performing his solo stand-up show internationally at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, and at The Sydney Opera House in Australia. In addition, he was invited on the hugely popular Conan O’Brien Show (TBS, USA) to perform his material.
Russell’s tireless energy, unabashed love of humanity and uniquely positive approach to stand up has made him one of the UK’s favourite and most successful comedians.
In addition to being a regular on Mock The Week, Russell has twice featured on Live At The Apollo and appeared on Would I Lie To You (BBC One), Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC Two), 8 Out 10 Cats (Channel 4), and performing alongside David Walliams, Jimmy Carr, Fearne Cotton, Davina McCall, Miranda Hart and Patrick Kielty for BBC Sport Relief.
"As sparkling as a tree's-worth of Christmas lights... a robust antidote to the depressive, recessionary mood of the moment... Right now, he's flying"
The Telegraph
"The Mock the Week star has joined the big league"
The Independent
"Probably the best of a new generation of comics. His mind is as sharp as a witch’s nose and gags flow from him with the ease and Majesty of the river Nile"
