2009 British Comedy Award Best Actor, 2008 British Comedy Award Best Male Newcomer and 2008 RTS Comedy Performance Award nominee Simon Bird is best known for his role as Will in E4’s comedy The Inbetweeners, and as Lazy Pete in BBC Three’s Clone.
As a member of the Cambridge Footlights, Simon performed in two national tours, won a number of awards for his comic plays, and reached the final of the 2006 Chortle Student Comic of the Year competition. He was also a finalist in the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year and the runner up for the Chortle Student Comic Award in 2008.
Last year Simon returned to the Edinburgh Fringe with two shows, The Meeting as part of the House of Windsor, a site specific show set in a company boardroom, and in the late-night gang show Simon, Helen, Nick & Pete Call a Conclave and Elect the New Pope.
