DAVID BADDIEL will give a charity performance of his critically-acclaimed show My Family: Not the Sitcom at London’s Vaudeville Theatre on Friday 23rd September in aid of three organisations who work with those affected by dementia. Proceeds from the gala evening will be split equally between Alzheimer’s Society, The National Brain Appeal and The Unforgettable Foundation.

 David Baddiel said: “I’m very happy to be performing My Family: Not The Sitcom for dementia charities and awareness-raising groups. One of the things the show tries to do is challenge stock ideas about dementia – particularly the idea that it’s something which can’t possibly be broached through comedy – and the reaction I’ve had, both from people with relatives living with dementia and from organisations like Alzheimer’s Society, The National Brain Appeal, and The Unforgettable Foundation has been so positive, that I thought I’d like to, in that immortal phrase, give something back.”

My Family: Not The Sitcom is a massively disrespectful celebration of the lives of David Baddiel’s late mother, Sarah, and dementia-ridden father, Colin. It’s a show about memory, ageing, infidelity, dementia, what we can and can’t say in an over-policed moral culture, golf and gay cats.
