EDINBURGH COMEDY AWARD NOMINEE ADAM HESS TO KICK-START UK ‘FEATHERS’ TOUR WITH RUN AT THE SOHO THEATRE

“For good quality gags per minute, there is no better comedian” Independent

Building on the success of a month-long critically-acclaimed and sold-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Newcomer nominee ADAM HESS will kick-start his nationwide Adam Hess: Feathers tour with a six night run at the Soho Theatre beginning on the 19th September. Following performing in London, ADAM is set to take his latest show to theatres around the UK and will be joined by stand-up comedians RHYS JAMES (“charismatic, clever and self-aware… Destined for great things”, Guardian) and MAE MARTIN (“she has mass appeal, is interesting, hugely likeable, and is above all else is very funny,” Chortle) for various dates.

ADAM’S a funny guy, has good manners and no matter how dark or light it is when he leaves the cinema he’s always surprised. In Adam Hess: Feathers, he discusses the masks we wear, being brought up in an extremely Catholic household and the time he got stranded on the Thames in a fishing boat wearing a leotard when he was 17. Come though.

Last year, ADAM’S sell-out Edinburgh Fringe debut, Adam Hess: Salmon received huge critical acclaim, gaining him a place among the Best reviewed Edinburgh fringe shows, a nomination for the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer and mentions in numerous ‘best jokes from the fringe’ lists. Following the fringe ADAM was invited to perform the show at London’s Soho Theatre, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival and was nominated for Best Club Comic at the 2016 Chortle Awards.

ADAM has appeared on BBC Two’s Live from the BBC, ITV2’s @elevenish, BBC One’s Count Arthur Strong, BBC Radio 4’s Don’t Make Me Laugh and ABC’s Comedy Up Late. He has contributed to lots of big TV shows (including BBC Two’s Russell Howard’s Good News on which he was a staff writer) and regularly contributed to the award winning Dave podcast. He has also and supported DAVID BADDIEL on tour and is one of the creators of underground cult hit The Bearpit Podcast Podcast which returned to Edinburgh this year with Bearpit Podcast (Podcast): 100 Year Anniversary.

Having won the 2011 Chortle Student Comedy Award and received nominations for Leicester Mercury New Act of the Year and Best Newcomer at the Chortle Awards in 2013, ADAM quickly made a name for himself on the comedy circuit. He has 50,000 followers on twitter and his 140 character witticisms have been named ‘funniest tweet of 2013’ (Telegraph), the ‘second funniest of 2014’ (The Sun) and been featured in a BBC Online’s Feed My Funny.
