His one-man shows include Richard Herring Is Fat, Richard Herring Is All Man, Christ On A Bike, Talking Cock, Someone Likes Yoghurt, menage a un and most recently Oh Fuck I'm 40. His hugely successful riposte to The Vagina Monologues; Talking Cock, has had versions performed in Paris, Berlin, Rome, Antwerp, Oslo and Helsinki. Ebury Press has also published a book version of Talking Cock which is due to be re-printed in 2008. With Al Murray, Richard devised and wrote 37 episodes of the sitcom Time Gentlemen Please (Sky One/Paramount) for Al's alter ego The Pub Landlord. He also wrote and starred in the comedy drama You Can Choose Your Friends (ITV)

In 2008 Richard wrote and recorded a third series of That Was Then This Is Now (BBC Radio 2), returned as a regular panelist for the third series of Banter (BBC Radio 4) and toured nationally with his Edinburgh 2007 show Oh Fuck I'm 40. Richard returned to the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2008 with his new show The Headmaster's Son.
