BBC Radio 1 DJ and award-winning stand-up comedian TOM DEACON, as seen on The Rob Brydon Show (BBC Two) and Dave’s One Night Stand (DAVE), returns to Edinburgh Festival with brand new show: Deaconator. TOM talks gap yahs and stag dos, helping his mate rob a bank and potentially causing Greece’s economic crash (oops). Last year Fest Magazine said TOM had ‘a handful of cracking one-liners’, well this year, he’s back with two handfuls (admittedly, he has really tiny girl-hands).
TOM first burst onto the comedy scene as the winner of Chortle’s Student Comedian Award and as a finalist in the Amused Moose New Act Competition. He went on to present 5:19 (BBC Two) - a youth orientated show featuring comedy sketches, music and celebrity shows. TOM is a regular presenter on BBC Radio 1, having had his own evening show on Sunday nights and currently as a stand-in for the likes of REGGIE YATES, DEV’s early morning breakfast show and HUW STEPHEN’s weekday afternoon show. He has performed on The Rob Brydon Show (BBC Two) and Edinburgh and Beyond for Comedy Central and took part in the Edinburgh Festival’s longest running group comedy show, The Comedy Zone, which previously launched the careers of DAVE GORMAN, HARRY HILL, STEWART LEE, AL MURRAY and ROSS NOBLE.
