It was announced today (13 July 2012) that DAVID WALLIAMS, FRANK SKINNER and GREG DAVIES will work together on a new non-tx pilot for BBC One. I Love My Country is a peak-time comedy entertainment show, which will see two teams battle it out in a contest of ‘patriotic knowledge’.

A co-production between Avalon Television Scotland and Netherlands-based Talpa, I Love My Country was commissioned by DANNY COHEN, Controller, BBC One; ALAN TYLER, Executive Editor, Entertainment Commissioning; and MARK LINSEY, Controller, Entertainment Commissioning. The series will be directed by PETER ORTON (Harry Hill’s TV Burp) and produced by SPENCER MILLMAN (Harry Hill’s TV Burp), while the Executive Producers are RICHARD ALLEN-TURNER, JON THODAY and TOBY STEVENS.

ALAN TYLER said: “David, Frank and Greg are three of the UK’s biggest comedy talents, bringing them together on one show is a really exciting prospect and we are delighted to be working with them on BBC One”.

I Love My Country is based on the hit Talpa show that originated in the Netherlands from Dutch producer JOHN DE MOL.

The pilot will record this summer.
