GREG DAVIES, star of BAFTA-winning TV series and hit film The Inbetweeners, will see his Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated, critically acclaimed, triple extended, 109 date sell-out debut solo show: Firing Cheeseballs At A Dog shown on TV for the first time, on BBC Three, 6th September.
Can a chance encounter with a stray Spanish dog and a bag of crisps lead to an epiphany and a fresh approach to life? No of course it can't, but is that a reason not to build an entire show around it? Finding himself firing cheeseballs at a dog, GREG reached the entirely sensible conclusion that we will all be a lot happier if we simply ignore difficult emotional issues in favour of a celebration of the pointless. This show is the first to ever attempt to chronicle an entire life without offering even the slightest insight into the human condition, every significant incident forensically removed to leave only the lean meat of the trivial.
Best known for his role as Mr. Gilbert, which he reprised last year in The Inbetweeners film, GREG has performed on Live at the Apollo (BBC One), headlined Dave’s One Night Stand (Dave), is a regular panellist on Ask Rhod Gilbert (BBC One), hosted Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC Two), appeared on Have I Got News for You (BBC One), Mock The Week (BBC Two), 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Frank Skinner’s Opinionated (BBC Two), been nominated for The Times Breakthrough Award at the South Bank Show Awards 2011. He has written and stars in Man Down, a new sitcom pilot for Channel 4 and I Love My Country, a new entertainment pilot starring alongside DAVID WALLIAMS, FRANK SKINNER for BBC One. Other recent TV appearances include; The Graham Norton Show (BBC One) and driving through Nepal alongside RHOD GILBERT in World’s Most Dangerous Roads (BBC Two).
GREG was also one third of Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated sketch group WE ARE KLANG, with fellow comedians STEVE HALL and MAREK LARWOOD. The trio have performed four critically-acclaimed sell-out Edinburgh shows and made their eponymous debut sit-com series of the same name and one off entertainment special for BBC THREE in 2010.
