Russell Howard

About

Good News is a topical, comedy entertainment show with a fast-paced combination of stand-up, studio banter, interviews and video clips.

Series one was the best performing studio-based entertainment show BBC Three has ever launched, drawing in 2.5 million viewers in a week, and was the most requested BBC Three programme on BBC's iPlayer catch-up service in 2009. Following the huge success of the first series, Good News returned to BBC Three with two new series in 2010.

Written and presented by multi-award-winning comic and Mock The Week star Russell Howard and produced by Avalon Television. The star of the show offers his unique perspective on the big stories dominating the 24-hour rolling news networks, newspapers and internet, as well as picking up on those sometimes overlooked little news nuggets that make him smile.

Filmed weekly in front of a studio audience, Good News also encourages fans at home to get involved and shape the news agenda by submitting stories online - where they are also able to view exclusive extra features - or via Twitter.

"We're loving cheeky Russell's series which, as well as giving his take on the big stories, also uncovers some of the more bizarre headlines of the week. Funny stuff."
The Mirror (We Love Telly)

"Howard is energetic, uncynical and, most importantly, very funny."
David Chater, The Times (Playlist)
